Spanish. Notice from inquisitor general Perez de Prado y Cuesta, confirming Pedro Martinez de Soria's tenure as Alguacil de la Santa Cruzada (a royal donation dating back to the 1630s). Certified in the following year at la Gineta, with wax seal (on verso); text partially cut off at bottom. Contains signature.

Spanish. Collection of printed and manuscript documents regarding Antonio Benito and his status in the inquisition's Santa Hermandad confraternity. The Hermandad's centuries-old role in the suppression of gypsies and bandits is noted, along with more recent struggles against the French invaders. Benito's qualities and blood purity (limpieza) are noted, for which he is named comisario quadrillero of the Hermandad. Contains signatures and wax seal.

Spanish. Printed certificate with ornate printed border, filled in by hand, naming Marcos de la Bandera a notary of the inquisition. Mention is made of his blood purity (limpieza). Contains signatures; wax seal is missing.

Spanish. Fragment of a cartulary, contains copy of a 1779 document naming Joseph Romero Dias Cañete a familiar of the inquisition. Contains signature of Pablo Manuel de Simancas.

"Nos los inquisidores.... En los Alcazares Reales de Cordova [Cordoba]: 1744. Inquisition 112

Spanish. Ornate certificate with hand-colored decorative border, naming Francisco Calero Alexandre de Pedraxas a familiar of the inquisition. Contains signatures; inquisitorial wax seal has detached. Badly faded in parts. Certified later in the same month (on verso).

Titulo de Secretario del Se... Madrid: 1716-1717. Inquisition 111

Spanish. Certificate confirming the retirement of Luis Maldonado as secretary of the Valladolid inquisition with full pension and perquisites. Contains signatures, inquisitorial wax seal. Certified four months later (1717) before Antonio Llanes Campomanes (on verso).

Spanish. Ornate hand-colored & decorated certificate naming Joseph Gomez Olias Alguacil mayor for the inquisition at Morejón. Contains signatures and wax seal. Certified shortly after (on verso).

Cartilla de Comisarios del ... Barcelona; Barconine [Barcelona]: [1799]; 1847. Inquisition 163

Spanish and Latin. Two works bound together. The first is a short set of instructions for inquisitorial commissaries and notaries, in Spanish (with a Latin prayer at end); the second is a Latin treatise of Church law on financial dealings. Ownership inscription: "es a uso del P. Ambrosio de Barcelona Calificador del Santo Oficio, 1801".

Spanish. Includes alphabetical list of confraternity members 1771-1802.

Bueno Guerrero, Juan "Memorial que Juan Bue... S.l.n.a. [Granada?]: [1600s?]. Inquisition 209

Spanish. Appeal to the king by an inquisitorial familiar, detailing complexity of local conflicts leading to his imprisonment and loss of property.

"Nos los Inquisidores ... Toledo: 1600. Inquisition 211

Spanish. Printed certificate, filled in by hand. The document notes privileges and exemptions of inquisitorial familiares, and cites recent mistreatment of the familiar Alonso Diaz Guerrero in the town of Alcazar. Contains signatures and wax seal. A further note, added a month later, confirms the document was acknowledged by town officials. Cf. #212.

Spanish. Printed certificate, filled in by hand. The document notes privileges and exemptions of inquisitorial familiares, and cites recent mistreatment of the familiar Alonso Diaz Guerrero in the town of Alcazar de San Juan. Contains signatures and wax seal. Cf. #211.

Spanish. Collection of privileges relating to the Santa Hermandad confraternity, dating back to 1417. A blank form for presentation of privileges is included.

Indulgencias Concedidas por... Valladolid: 1612. Inquisition 215

Spanish. Translation of papal indulgences issued to confraternity of St. Peter Martyr and other familiars and officials in 1611 by Paul V. Scipio Cobellutius's name is printed at the end of the document, which is then signed by Juan Martines de la Vega. Formerly bound in a collection with INQ315, paginated pp. 13-14.

Spanish. Collection of privileges relating to the Santa Hermandad confraternity. Contains signature. Ornate binding with crest.

Indulgencias Plenarias y Gr... Valladolid: 1612. Inquisition 315

Spanish. Translation of a 1571 collection of bulls and indulgences granted to crusaders and familiars of the inquisition by popes from the thirteenth to the sixteenth centuries, confirmed by Pius V (1570). Text gives incipits and dates of the original documents, with minimal summary. Last page contains Spanish summary of Pius V's 1569 "Institucion de la Cofradia de San Pedro Martyr, de Oficiales, y Ministros del Santo Oficio de la Inquisicion". Contains signature at end. Formerly bound in a collection with INQ215, paginated pp. 15-16.

Translation of a 1571 collection of bulls and indulgences granted to crusaders and familiars of the inquisition by popes from the thirteenth to the sixteenth centuries, confirmed by Pius V (1570). Text gives incipits and dates of the original documents, with minimal summary. Last page contains Spanish summary of Pius V's 1569 "Institución de la Cofradía de San Pedro Martyr, de Oficiales, y Ministros del Santo Oficio de la Inquisicion".
