Spanish, Italian and Latin. Collection of approximately 60 letters from inquisitorial agents to the Suprema at Madrid, reporting on political and religious developments in Rome. Most are signed by Juan de Hoces, but Francisco Peña's and other signatures also appear.

Spanish. Two separate but related documents; the first is a manuscript notarized document (Treviana, 1629) produced on behalf of Diego Lopez de Ocio, a familiar of the inquisition. It includes copies of various documents, including certificates of familiatura originally granted to both Diego Lopez de Ocio (1611) and his uncle Hernando Correa de Velasco (1571). The second is a printed certificate (Logroño 1617), filled out by hand, noting privileges for Diego Lopez de Ocio in his capacity of inquisitorial familiar. Cf. INQ100.

Copy of the 1584 Madrid Expurgatory Index, issued by French protestants to show the misguided nature of censorship by the Spanish Inquisition; an essay listing examples of harmless yet censored books precedes the original introductory note. Some mispagination. Contains alphabetical index at end.
